THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT, AND I LOOK FORWARD TO SERVING GWINNETT!
"Everyone I see before me in court has at least one thing in common - they are a human being going through one of the hardest times of their lives. As a judge, it is imperative that we acknowledge the difficult times people are facing, and that we show the utmost respect and compassion for every single person."
Judge Tamela Adkins has served as a Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge since 2021. Upon her graduation from law school in Connecticut, Tamela quickly proceeded to pass the Georgia Bar Exam in 1993, followed by passing the Florida Bar Exam in 1994. While in law school, Tamela worked as a Law Clerk. Upon her graduation from law school, Tamela moved to Georgia, opening her own firm and working as a trial attorney for 27 years prior to running for Gwinnett County Superior Court in 2020. Judge Tamela Adkins has the skills and experience that our Superior Court Bench needs - something she has proven throughout her first term as a Superior Court Judge, and something she will continue to prove upon her re-election.

Everyone I see before me in court has at least one thing in common - they are a human being going through one of the hardest times of their lives. As a judge, it is imperative that we acknowledge the difficult times people are facing, and that we show the utmost respect and compassion for every single person. I am committed to looking deeply into every case that comes before me and ensuring that everyone who steps foot into my courtroom is granted the respect and compassion that they deserve.
My job is to uphold the law justly and fairly, in a way that takes both victims and perpetrators into account. I will always rule with those core principles in mind, upholding the law and working to make sure the individuals involved never have to see the inside of a courtroom again.
Gwinnett is at the center of much innovation, including within our court system. Part of that innovation has involved creating diversion programs that focus on lowering recidivism rates and keeping our community and all of our community members safe and healthy. One such program that our bench focuses on is our treatment courts. Within our Treatment Court Program, there are specific programs tailored to help those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, those struggling with mental health problems, along with a program focusing on rehabilitating veterans.
